This is a wall hanging that I carved a number of years ago in the form of a mask. The face is carved from a single piece of English Walnut heartwood. and was hugely expensive as I remember (£100 plus).
The horns were carved in Jelutong - a very light wood similar in weight to balsa wood that is used primarily for Puppet and clog making. Finished in linseed oil it has a deep lustrous tone.
Particularly effective when placed high up and top lit.
